What I Do?

As a professional mediator, I do not represent one side or the other. I do not even offer opinions. Instead, I remain neutral, helping each party forge a mutually acceptable settlement agreement that terminates the litigated conflict for good.

Each side is empowered to test assumptions, explore solutions and ultimately co-design a mutually approved resolution structure. Because a successful mediation results in a written settlement agreement, the parties are in complete control of the result.

Mediation sessions are conducted in separate breakout rooms, with the mediator facilitating communication between parties. This confidential format allows for open and candid discussions while maintaining privacy.

Parties who proceed to trial relinquish significant control over the outcome of their dispute. Litigation can result in substantial costs and unfavorable outcomes for all parties involved, regardless of the evidence presented. This is particularly relevant in emerging or controversial industries where traditional court systems may harbor inherent biases, such as legal cannabis.

While mediation requires dedicated effort from all parties, it consistently delivers successful outcomes. That’s why most U.S. courts require litigants to engage in some form of alternative dispute resolution before they reach trial.

While parties who settle rarely walk away with what they originally demanded, they always walk away knowing they had control over the outcome.

I facilitate remote video-conference mediation sessions with individual breakout rooms. The parties need not see each other unless they choose.  I emphasize my neutrality, fairness, and confidentiality. My mediation style is to employ candor to help the parties (1) fairly evaluate their relative case strengths and weaknesses, (2) thoroughly explore common ground, and (3) focus away from the past injury or insult and towards future solution opportunities. In the end, your settlement success is my success, and I am devoted to that goal.
